Support worker Staff.

We have an excellent team of highly skilled professional care staff to look after you. Each support worker undergoes initial and continuous training that ensures that we deliver the highest quality services to you. We recognise that your support worker is somebody with whom you can form a special friendship, and for this reason we take great care in selecting a staff member with whom you feel completely comfortable. This is only done with your full consent, and you are free to ask for a change in carer at any time if you so desire it.

We require a signature after every visit unless specified with the manager.

Liberty choice is committed to a formal program of Staff selection, recruitment, training and personal developments to ensure service users care needs are met. The safety of Service Users and support worker Staff is paramount and the results of the objective initial and then regular subsequent risk assessments form part of the service users support care plan ensuring both parties are adequately protected. Similarly the whole Services care plan is subject to regular review to ensure its continued suitability.

When our staff attends your home they will always be wearing a uniform together with an appropriate Identification Badge with photograph so that he / she is easily identifiable to you. They will knock and not try to gain entry without your permission. Wherever we are entrusted with the keys to your home such as key safe access, staff will always knock when using the key so that you know who is calling. Support worker attending you at your home will not at any time be accompanied by partners, children, friends or pets. If at any time your support worker is unable to attend due to sickness or leave, we will always telephone you with the name of the replacement support worker.

Liberty Choice ensures only suitably trained staffs are used to deliver quality services to our service users therefore all staff are fully inducted to the companies policies and procedures. Induction standards are met and records of qualifications and experiences are maintained. These mandatory training courses include:


  • Relevant QCF Domiciliary Care qualification
  • Moving and handling
  • Health and Safety
  • Food and Hygiene
  • Protection of Vulnerable Adults & Children
  • Basic First aid

All staff are recommended and encouraged to study optional units including:

  • Dementia care
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Pharmaceutical training
  • Extended first aid
